Vacancies at  Parish of Corfe Mullen

We are currently recruiting for the following staff:-
Community Pioneer Minister:
Full-time or part-time
£21 -25,000 (depending on experience) per annum or pro rata part-time

We are looking for a community Pioneer Minister with a passion for the gospel and a pioneer heart. Someone with drive and resilience, undaunted by the genuine missional challenge and opportunity of leading a pioneering work to establish new ministries within the large and thriving community of Corfe Mullen. Our vision is to enable younger people and families to explore and engage with the Christian faith.

You will be based at St Nicholas Church which together with St Hubert’s is part of a two-church parish with a vision to grow closer to God, to each other and to our community. We are situated in Corfe Mullen, a thriving community of 11000 people in beautiful Dorset just north of Poole and Bournemouth and which includes four schools and many young families. The church building itself is just over 20 years old and has extensive facilities which are used by many hundreds of people within our community every week.

We recognise that the expectations of local families may be very different from those offered by models of ministry offered in the past. We therefore need someone who will listen well. Pre-pandemic we had started various ministries within the church involving younger families including Parents/Carers and Tots and a monthly family service. We also trialled a Saturday morning ‘Mossy Church’. Both pre and post pandemic, we have run ‘one off’ events for families with enthusiastic and committed volunteers.

We have a small number of under 30’s who are enthusiastic and meet together in a Life Group which has continued online through the lockdowns. They are involved in serving in various aspects of church life. We are seeking to nurture and disciple them well and for this group to be a possible foundation for any Fresh Expression.

In return we offer a salary of £21,000-£25,000 per annum or pro rata, a pension and a flexible working week (including Sunday’s, some weekday evenings and Saturdays). A minimum two year fixed term.

The deadline for applications is 2pm, on 14th April 2021. Interviews will be held on Monday 26th April 2021.

St Nicholas and St Hubert’s churches are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We follow safer recruitment practices. The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced disclosure (with barring data) check prior to commencement of the role. There is a genuine occupational requirement that the person appointed to this post should be a Christian with a living faith
